The Annoying Orange - By: Kim Mei Ling Tan

Getting so bored lately? Never have a good laugh for a long time?

Well get a load of this crap, and be annoyed by a talking orange. Every episode goes like the orange annoys its fellow fruits and vegetables, but always gets the last laugh when their rudeness was being followed by their demise, mostly being cut down by the kitchen knife.

Created by Daneboe of Gagfilms as early as 2009 that has been extremely popular and even followed by different kinds of series.

When the annoying orange completely annoy his friend apple to death.

Korean Music Invades 'Pinas! By Rachel Mendoza

True , we are a country of mixed races, mixed habits and mixed culture. We are influenced by the Spaniards with the Catholic Religion, the Americans with Education, and several others that made us one heck of a race. Now, several decades later, our airwaves are constantly being bugged by songs with dialects we barely understand. From the beautiful faces of the F4 dudes in Meteor Garden, here comes a scene we expect would not leave soon: Korean Pop or KPop.

Let me feed you with the current of Kpop, before it leaves you hanging like a Teru teru bozu on a window pane.

GIRL GROUPS

1.) Wondergirls

They were the first to invade the land with their song 'Nobody'. Right now, their member Sunmi was replaced due to her education. The members were SunHye, Ye Eun, Yoo Bin, So Hee and Hae Rim who replaced Sunmi.

2.) 2NE1

This is the Kpop girl group we should be proud of. Sandara Park, once the country's 'krung-krung' sweetheart now sings for this equally talented quartet composed of Chae-Rim or CL, Bom, Minzy and of course, Sandara Park. Their hit songs were 'Fire', 'Lollipop' and 'I don't care.

3.) Girls Generation
Spell Girl Group? Hey, number doesn't matter, right? this 9-member group under SM Entertainment recently hit big with their ever-changing songs, shirts and to die for choreography. I personally like this group because of their wits, talents and faces. They were the current endorsers of LG Chocolate Phone along with another group, f(x) and the Seoul, South Korea's endorsers with Super Junior and Dongbangshinki or DBSK. Their rise to fame song was 'Gee' that ousted the record of Wonder Girls' 'Nobody' from the charts.

They recently collaborated with Super Junior with the 'Seoul Song' to promote the city's beautiful places to go to. Their other hit songs were Genie (Sowoneul Malhaebwa) and Oh! The members of this big group were, TaeYon, Jessica, Sunny, Sooyoung, YoonA, Tiffany, Hyohyeon, Seohyun and my personal favorite, Yuri.

BOY GROUPS

1.) Big Bang
Initially a six-member group, one member dropped out during the airing of the 'Big Bang Documentary' show before the official debut
, leading to their current line-up of, G-Dragon, T.O.P., Daesung, Taeyang and Seungri. By the end of 2009, Big Bang became the most searched artist in South Korea. They also became the first foreign group in Japan to receive the Japan Cable Broadcasting Award for "Best Newcomer" and the first from Korea to receive the Japan Records honor. In recent years, the members have branched out to do solo activities: Taeyang and G-Dragon released solo materials while T.O.P, Daesung, and Seungri started acting. Their Songs include 'The Last Farewell', 'My Heaven' and 'Gara gara Go'.

2.) DongBangShinKi or DBSK or TVXQ

Their name translates as "The Rising Gods of the East". TVXQ made their debut on December 26, 2003 during a BoA and Britney Spears showcase, where they performed their debut single "Hug" and an rendition of "O Holy Night " with BoA. Since then, Korea and Japan can't get enough with this handsome quintet composed of Xiah Junsu, Micky Yoochun, Max Changmin, Hero Jaejoong and U-Know Yunho. Their album, 'Mirotic' topped several Korean and Japanese charts making these guys a hot talent to boot.

3.) Super Junior'

Yes. My favorite above all the Korean Groups that has ever risen on this planet. Super Junior is a 13-member boy band, making them the biggest boy band in the whole world. they debut in 2005 with their single 'U. These cute boys were trained by Sm Entertainment to be flexible in the fields of singing, dancing, acting, hosting and modeling. With those talents and those pretty faces, what more could a girl ask for? I say none. Their hit songs include U, Sorry, Sorry, It's You and Don't Don. The group were also divided into sub-groups to expand their musical genres. The sub-groups were Super Junior-H, Super Junior-T, Super Junior-K.R.Y and Super Junior-M.

The members, if you can memorize it in one minute were Leeteuk, Heechul, Kangin, Hankyung, Shindong, Yesung, Sungmin, Eunhyuk, Siwon, Ryeowook, Kibum and my favorites, Kyuhyun and Donghae.

Bakit maganda ang Rohan? By John Paul Raman

Simple...

LOL

DotA has plenty of unique characters, each with unique skills at puro PVP.
SF parang CS online nga lang. At mas nakaka-tense ang first person type ng game gaya nito. kung di ka marunong umasinta, mag super mario ka nalang. :P
Rohan is an MMORPG type of game. parang pagnarok 3D version nga lang. And in every MMORPG, hindi mawawala ang Item Mall.

An item mall is an online store where you can buy game items that you will never find in-game.
A store where you purchase virtual thingies for the virtual warrior in you. Kung gusto mo ng malakas na character pero hindi ka good player at slow leveler at err...mapera, asa ka nalang dito. LOL

Rohan gives out massive mall sale from time to time. abang-abang lang.
Like other MMORPGs, may guilds din ang game na 'to at siguradong makakahanap ka rin ng mga kaibigan from other parts of the country. Gaming na Social Networking pa ;)
Well anyway this is a biased post...except yung tungkol sa graphics at gameplay;)
The gamer would still be the one to determine his?her game.
good luck on the journey to the online gaming world ;)

Edoneh....Clash of the Worlds

LU (Level Up) just came up with a new project that would put every Rohan players in test.

It was getting boring lately. pare-parehong mukha at pangalan nalang ang nakikita ko tuwing maglalaro. Good thing naisipan ng LU ang merge. Asteeegggg!!

10 best songs of 2010

10 best songs of 2010

By Mary Ann Chua

Categories: Music

It's only a month into the new year -- but with a flurry of new releases, we wanted to highlight the best songs of 2010 to date. Many of the new singles feature guest artists, an "et-al" phenomenon that includes Ludacris, Beyonce, Lil Wayne, Jay Sean, 3OH!3 and others leading the pack. But let's not exclude Lady Antebellum and Taylor Swift, whose success from 2008 album releases have carried them over into the new decade. Here are AOL Radio's Top Pop Songs of 2010 so far -- pulled from our

listener ratings on our Fresh 40 station. Be sure to check back frequently, as we will be updating this post every couple months with the best 2010 songs.

10) Taio Cruz: 'Break Your Heart'

This R&B song -- with auto-tune vocals and a synth back-beat -- is the first single from Taio

Cruz's September-released album 'Rokstarr.' Originally penned for UK singer Cheryl Cole, this No. 1 UK hit has been remixed in 2010 for the US version that features rap sequences by Ludacris.

9) Jay-Z: 'Young Forever'

This Jan. 26-released single is the fifth song featured off his 2009 studio album 'The

Blueprint 3.' Produced by Kanye West, this best song of 2010 features British R&B/pop

singer Mr. Hudson singing splices of Alphaville's 1984 hit 'Forever Young' -- while Jay-Z raps original lyrics. You may remember the 1984 version from the prom scene of the cult classic 'Napoleon Dynamite.'

8) Taylor Swift: 'Today Was a Fairytale'

This is one of two tracks by Swift featured on the soundtrack for the forthcoming film 'Valentine's Day' (opening in theaters Feb. 12, 2010). Swift makes her onscreen debut, alongside a slew of actors, including heartthrob 'Twilight' actor (and possibly ex?) Taylor Lautner. The raw guitar sound and romantic lyrics will make any love-bound tween swoon: "But can you feel this magic in the air? / It must have been the way you kissed me / Fell in love when I saw you standing there."

7) Owl City: 'Vanilla Twilight'

A follow-up to 'Fireflies,' this love anthem is for those enduring a long-distance relationship. The single still has Adam Young's whimsical synth-pop, crescendoing from his piano solo as he sings: "I'll watch the night turn light blue / But it's not the same without you / Because it takes two to whisper quietly." Featured on the July-released 'Ocean Eyes,' the deluxe edition was released Jan. 26.

6) Kevin Rudolf: 'I Made It'

Featuring Cash Money collaborators Birdman, Lil Wayne and Brit R&B newcomer Jay Sean, the rock/pop song is about, well, living the dream and making it as an artist. Weezy adds notable punchlines in the bridge: "Made it to the goal line, straight out the huddle / Cash money goldmine, Weezy stay loyal / Boy we getting money like we just found oil." The song will be featured on Kevin Rudolf's forthcoming, still untitled, sophomore album.

5) Selena Gomez & the Scene: 'Naturally'

The second single off Gomez's September-released debut 'Kiss & Tell', the electropop tune premiered on 'Radio Disney.' Gomez sings about a boy who is a perfect fit for her: "When you know it's meant to be / Everything comes naturally, it comes naturally / When you're with me, baby."

4) Justin Bieber: 'Baby'

Featuring Ludacris, the song is no stranger to Beiber's formula: R&B beats and puppy love. Ludacris even raps about his first love: "She had me going crazy / Oh, I was star-struck / She woke me up daily / Don't need no Starbucks / She made my heart pound." This best song of 2010 is featured on his forthcoming album 'My World (Part II)' debuting this spring.

3) Lady Antebellum: 'Need You Now (2010 Mix)'

This top song is about the longing of late-night companionship. A beautiful ballad for a booty-call, the song reached No. 1 on the Hot Country charts in November, eventually transitioning over to pop radio as well as the Billboard 100. Just last week they pulled a Taylor Swift and released a 2010 pop mix version -- electric guitar replacing the country guitar twang in the chorus and the bridge. Subtle, but it does the trick.

2) Ke$ha: 'Blah Blah Blah'

Featuring the playful rap duo 3OH!3, Ke$ha sings (over video game-sounding synth beats) about getting with a guy. Blunt and emotionally removed, the clean version still gets the point across, minus some of the verbiage in this unrefined line: "I don't care where you live at, just turn around boy and let me hit that / Don't be a little b-- with your chit chat, just show me where your d-- at." This best song of 2010 is the second released-single off her debut album 'Animal.'

1) Lady GaGa: 'Telephone'

Not to be confused with Beyonce's remix of 'Video Phone' -- which also includes Lady GaGa -- this top pop song is featured on GaGa's 'The Fame Monster' and was released as a single on Jan. 26. Although the song incorporates a harp, it's definitely club-ready -- and features a surprising rap sequence in the middle by Beyonce. Written by GaGa and Rodney "Darkchild" Jerkins, the song was originally intended for Britney.

Richard Guttirez to host the SURVIVOR Philippines 3

Survivor Philippines 3

By Mary Ann Chua

Richard Guttierez to host the Survivor Philippines 3

With Paolo Bediones moving to TV5, the management has no choice but to get someone who has a top caliber like that of Paolo. There was a rumor that Ryan Agoncillo would leave Talentadong Pinoy to host for Survivor Philippines season 3 but after a short while another rumor ahs spread throughout the showbiz industry that it would be none other than the sexiest man on the Philippines today, Dingdong Dantes. Today, it is confirmed that Primetime King Richard Gutierrez would be the one who would do the hosting for the third season of the Pinoy franchise.

Everyone is quite aware of the hosting capabilities of Richard Gutierrez since he already done it on a series of earth friendly programs. He has proven that he has the making of a great host during these times. It is said that he would do this, before he will shoot for the 2nd part of Captain Barbell.

The third edition (Survivor Philippines 3) would be different than the two previous editions since this the first time that all of the contestants are all celebrities. Although, we have seen Chris Bolado in the season 2, aside from him, none of his companions is a celebrity.

The long time hit franchise will be hosted by actor Richard Gutierrez because of Paolo Bediones who has done hosting for the past seasons has already left GMA 7.

The celebrities would fight for whooping 3 million-prize money, much bigger than the previous season; to where it would be done is still a mystery.

The Karate Kid remake _ realease on June 2010

Karate Kid' remake screens at Showest with major studio fanfare

By Mary Ann Chua

This year’s Showiest has been a fairly scaled-back affair. Fewer big parties, fewer movies, more business. That wasn’t the case for Sony’s presentation of The Karate Kidlast march 17, however. In addition to the big lunch the studio threw for thousands of attendees, Sony was clearly in it to win it when it came to the movies pre-show. Some of it no doubt had to do with their very important producers, Will and Jada Pinkett Smith, waiting in the wings, but even so, this elaborate introduction included drummer and cymbal players, men in masks doing acrobatics, scores of women dressed in Asian garb lining the aisles to the theater, not to mention 12 little karate kids doing their own routine. It concluded with a shower of confetti streaming from the ceiling, carefully missing the studio executives sitting in the lower level. The act looked more like something you’d see at Comic-Con than what’s become the norm at this exhibition convention.

The film itself (which releases this June) is a worthy remake of the 1984 Ralph Macchio classic, and the delegates seemed to love it. Director Harald Zwart (Pink Panther 2, Agent Cody Banks) was able to conquer the majestic scope of China, and stars Jaden Smith and Jackie Chan form a sweet bond. Smith received what is sure to be the first of many awards for his acting when he was honored with Showest breakthrough star of the year. He took the stage in his white sneakers and said, “My dad prepared a speech for me with a bunch of funny stuff in it, but I’m 11 and I’m nervous.”

Karate Kid opens June 11 opposite The A-Team, so it’s no wonder Sony is setting the stage early with exhibition, hoping for the biggest theaters when it bows opposite the action remake of the popular ’80s TV show.

Ring The Telephone, The Lady GaGa Way By Rachel Mendoza

Tired of your usual crappy music videos that do nothing but fit the artist's whole face into the screen? Tired of the mad hysteria that consumes the angst-full rock band, singing songs about destruction, pandemonium and life's mayhem? Tired of thinking the correct answers about the previous stupid questions? Then, try watching and listening Lady GaGa's latest music video release from her album Fame Monster, Telephone.

After the successful release of the Beyonce and GaGa collaboration, Videophone, Telephone follows suit with a high-def video, not to mention the story the video delivers as the music progresses. GaGa, a prisoner in a lady's cell was bailed out from jail by Beyonce, the latter declaring that GaGa was a very bad girl. The two then headed to a local sandwich store, where a segment called "Let's make as Sandwich" showed gaga preparing poisoned food for the waiting customers. Meanwhile, Beyonce with her beau waited for GaGa's arrival with the poisoned food. Beyonce's companion, not knowing the food was poisoned, consumed the meal, then dies along with the whole customers in the diner.

The whole video, if a person is not accustomed in to seeing women with blurred genitals, avante garde fashion and women kissing would object to the song's videography. However, since we are now used to Lady GaGa's weird sense of life, would appreciate the effort put behind the creation of the video and on how it was creatively done for the awaiting GaGa fans and critics.

The song also has a lovely message. I used the word lovely to share it in a positive way. It tells on how a girl is annoyed on the constant calls from her boyfriend just to break up. Lady GaGa sure makes her audience wait for more, with her unstable change from one music video to another, you are sure to go gaga over what's next for Lady GaGa.

The Kikomachine Kraziness By Rachel Mendoza

_____________________________________________________________________________________
Comic strips from http://interviewwithmanixabrera.i.ph

If you are not a fan of thick hardbound novels with words you barely comprehend, try one of the country's satire comic strips compiled into a book with weird caricatures for cover( sorry for the long introduction), Kikomachine Komix.

The author, Manuel Luis Abrera or simply "Manix", started his career as a cartoonist when he was in grade 4. He is the son of the legendary Jesse Abrera who is the artist behind A.Lipin and a regular editorial cartoonist on the Philippine Daily Inquirer. Manix' comic strips were published daily on the Philippine Daily Inquirer. His strips talks about the harshness of college life and life itself.

Manix Abrera already released 6 Kikomachine komix compilations, namely,
Kiko Machine Komix 1 : Mga Tagpong Mukhang Ewan at Kung Ano-ano Pang Kababalaghan; Kiko Machine Komix 2 : Mga Tagpong Tila Nagpapaka-weird, Kunyari Pa-deep, Sarap Sapakin; Kiko Machine Komix 3: Die! Die, Evil! Die! Ahrrrgh!; Kiko Machine Komix 4: O Kaligayahang Walang Hanggan, Yeh!; Kiko Machine Komix 5: Alab ng Puso, Sa Dibdib mo'y Buhay, and his latest release, Kiko Machine Komix 6: 12.

Kikokomix were written in informal Tagalog, making it easier for the readers to relate to and understand. It doesn't talk about stuffs that is not on the current. With the help of Manix' comics, people are able to relate on what is happening in a lighter manner, with funny caricatures to deliver the message. The punchlines of the characters are really funny, you would literally roll your butt off from laughing. His drawing style is reader friendly-- sure, it does not cater to a younger bracket of readers but with our age, you would love how Manix iterate his message to the readers through his comics.

Funny thing is, I already have 4 of Manix' series, but the names of the regular characters appearing on the strips were not mentioned yet. Oh, well. The power of mystery.

Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief (A Book Review) By Rachel Mendoza

It was a cold summer night and I already finished reading two Tagalog romance novelettes when my friend Kris, seeing how bored I am, handed me an absurdly-covered paperback. Before the boozing starts, I began reading the paperback. It was Percy Jackson and the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, which was turned into a motion picture and was directed by Chris Columbus, the director of the first two Harry Potter movies. I have not watched the movie yet so I guess reading the book would be a good jump start. I don't like watching novel based motion pictures first before reading the book.

Well, The Lightning Thief was a Harry Potter series all over again. It's as if the author based his story line on the J.K Rowling hit. I haven't read all the series yet but for me, it was a Harry Potter-themed series but with a different touch. The story circled on a boy named Perseus Jackson or Percy, the son of the Olympian god of sea and earthquake, Poseidon. Percy was diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia, a condition where the words read are shuffled. It was explained later by Annabeth, the daughter of Athena, that their conditions were far human because they were half-bloods or demigods. During Percy's stay in the Yancy Academy, he was carefully being watched by Grover, who turned out to be a satyr and later joined him into his quest and his Latin teacher Mr. Brunner who was later revealed as Chiron, a civilized centaur and the Camp Half-Blood's Director.

Percy was first placed into the House of Hermes, but during the Capture the Flag game, when Percy was attacked by Clarisse and the other children of Ares, he heals himself when thrown out the river and Poseidon's trident appeared as a shadow above his head. Chiron gave Percy his quest- to look for the Zeus' Master Bolt and make himself innocent. Poseidon broke the pact taken by the Big Three (Zeus, Poseidon, Hades) to not to conceive more children therefore angering Zeus into believing the Poseidon made Percy stole his Master Bolt.

Percy, Annabeth and Grover traveled looking for the Master Bolt and was deceived by Ares. The trio met Hades who thought that his Helm of Darkness was stolen by Percy. Turned out that it was Luke, a son of Hermes who stole the Master Bolt and the Helm. It was the voice of Kronos from the Tartarus that commanded him into doing it.

The characters of HP and PJ are eerily similar. Like HP, Percy stumbles into different mishaps caused by a powerful force who would do anything fro Percy's demise. I believe that somehow, as I read the sequels following The Lightning Thief, my view about the book would change. Anyway, it was a feel-good book, no boring chapters and the fonts were reader-friendly. I would commend the author if his following works would not be branded Harry Potter-ish.

Hurt Locker wins the award for the Oscar’s Best Picture by Jeric R. Mallari

Updated last March 15, 2010, 09:15 pm (Philippine Time)

After many had thought it was really Avatar who got it,”The Hurt Locker” won the top two prizes at Sunday's Academy Awards, taking home the best picture trophy and the best director honor for Kathryn Bigelow.

Bigelow, the producer of the filmbecame the first woman in the 82-year history of the Oscars to earn Hollywood's top prize for filmmakers.

"There's no othe
r way to describe it. It's the moment of a lifetime," Bigelow said. "It's so extraordinary to be in the company of my fellow nominees, such powerful filmmakers, who have inspired me and I have admired, some of them for decades." Bigelow said.

Bigelow's film, which also won best picture, follows the dangerous daily existence of an Army bomb defusal team. It earned six Oscars, including one for Mark Boal's original screenplay, based on his time as a journalist embedded with such a unit.

Among those Bigelow and "The Hurt Locker" beat are ex-husband James Cameron and his sci-fi spectacle, "Avatar.", which many has expected to win the awards.

Cameron was seated right behind Bigelow at the Oscars and joined a standing ovation for her, clapping vigorously and saying, "Yes, yes," after she won.

Either movie would represent a first at the Oscars. James Cameron's "Avatar" would be the only science-fiction film ever to take home the best-picture prize. While war films have done well at the Oscars, Kathryn Bigelow's "The Hurt Locker" would be the first winner centered on the war on terror, a subject that has stirred little interest among movie audiences shell-shocked by news coverage of Iraq and Afghanistan.
