Vampires control people’s choice awards
Harry Potter fans are going to be bitter than ever, well, not exactly how many would figure it, but it was not only New Moon (from the Twilight Saga) that took control at the People’s Choice Award but other kinds of Vampires as well.

But of course, Twilight dominated among all the Vampire picks that reigned during this years People Choice Award with four trophies all in all. Including favorite franchise, movie and on-screen love team for the love triangle Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner. While Taylor Lautner, aside from being a top earning teenage actor in Hollywood got an award of his own as the breakout male actor.
True Blood”, an undead HBO fable and the supernatural CW series “The Vampire Diaries were slected as favorite TV obsession and favorite new TV drama, respectively.
Vampires and their likes really shined during the People’s Choice Award, but they are not the only ones. Humans, in the form of Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift and more got a share of the spotlight in their respective fields which we’ll discuss in a later post.
Taylor Lautner of Twilight is highest paid Teen Actor
You would not think it possible, but it really is. The Twilight actor is paid a juicy $7.5 million for his role in the movie Northern Lights. Making Taylor Lautner Hollywood’s highest paid teenage actor, ever.

Taylor Lautner is a very well-known persona in the Twilight trilogy which has recently released its second movie, New Moon in late 2009. The top paying teen actor is said to return to the big screen through Northern Lights. Northern Lights is about a gifted, young, aerobatics pilot who faces off with his controlling, billionaire father and falls in love with an equally gifted female pilot.
Taylor Lautner has been paid even higher than the likes of High School Musical’s Zac Efron and (bitch) Miley Cyrus.

Tomorrow, Maybe. by Rachel Ann Mendoza

The humdrums of emo music have engulfed us during our high school years. But why bother slit your wrist listening to heart wrenching “broken glass cut me to sleep, wounds are dissected so deep” things when you can listen to a feel good song?

“I've been down and
I'm wondering why
These little black clouds
Keep walking around
With me
With me”

A friend referred the band Stereophonics during our late-night, gate-crash movie marathons. The OST of the movie Wicker Park starring Josh Hartnett and Dian Krueger, I was moved by the opening song of the movie. My friend said that it was by Stereophonics, a Welsh band playing alternative music. I was soon LSS-ed by the song and quickly searched for the lyrics. At first, I thought the lyrics were repetitive and boring, but as I started blending it with the mellow music, it fit perfectly.

“It wastes time
And I'd rather be high
Think I'll walk me outside
And buy a rainbow smile
But be free
They're all free

So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home
So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home…”

The song simply discusses on being blue and on wanting to be happy. Happiness is a choice. If you want to be happy through simple things like smiles from somebody you barely know, then be happy. You are never deprived of happiness. It is around. Happiness is also contagious, you can be infected.

“I look around at a beautiful life
Been the upperside of down
Been the inside of out
But we breathe
We breathe

I wanna breeze and an open mind
I wanna swim in the ocean
Wanna take my time for me
All me”

The music of Stereophonics is really heart felt. From the husky voice of the vocalist, Kelly Jones, you might want to forget being sad and be happy. This song also talks about on wanting to be home, on wanting to be where you really wanted to be.

All suffering and sadness is caused by being in the wrong place. If you are unhappy where you are, move. Listen to Maybe Tomorrow by Stereophonics and I know their song can help you understand.

“So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home
So maybe tomorrow
I'll find my way home…”

GMA’s SIS: DEFEATED? by Jeric R. Mallari

It seems that the longest running morning talk variety—show SIS was defeated by the new ABS-CBN’s talent show ‘Showtime’. How come that they change they change SiS into Kapuso Movie Festival, a show that features Filipino movies.

‘Showtime’, hosted by Anne Curtis and Vhong Navarro became the first program of ABS-CN that can able to put a long-running talk show off-Air. As a resolution, GMA airs Filipino movies to possibly decrease the viewing rate of 2-digits into 1-digit of the latent show just as what ABS-CBN do when the other airs a fight of Manny Pacquiao.

Kapuso Movie Festival airs on the timeslot of SiS (10:30 a.m) and Fated to Love you again (11:30-12:00 am), same as the time allotted for ‘Showtime’. The program already started this January 4, 2010 and will last up to January 11 of the same year. The movies scheduled are:

Monday – Resiklo
Tuesday – Desperadas 2
Wednesday – Scaregivers
Thursday –Anak ng Kumander
Friday – Urduja

Talent shows became prominent for it showcased other talents of Filipinos instead of the typical singing and dancing contest programs. This became more popular after the ABC 5’s ‘Talentadong Pinoy ‘ has reign the rating defeating the two big television rivals. After the program airs last on January 11, a talent show entitled “Todo Bigay”, hosted by Aling Dionisia and Manny Pacquaio with Bayani Agbayani and Eugene Domingo is expected to air as a viewer of ABS-CBN ‘Showtime’.
