The much awaited “People of the Year” awardees are now revealed at the People’s Asia magazine. Inclined with the magazine’s 10th anniversary, the awards night on January 21 at Sofitel Philippine Plaza is very special because of the line-up of awardees. This year’s people of the year are achievers and newsmakers, visionaries and trailblazers, legends as well as extraordinary young guns. Awardees are:

Sen. Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino II : Because of the ‘insistent public demand” and popularity as the best nominee for president in May 2010 elections, Filipinos are looking forward unto him that he will not lie or steal as he was a son of late democracy fighters—Cory Aquino and Noynoy Aquino.

Nedy Tantoco : Eldest daughter of Rustan’s founder Ambassador Bienvenido Tantoco and Glecy Rustia Tantoco. Rustan’s proud president of the contemporary.

Efren Penaflorida : Simply the CNN Hero of the Year. Renowned after his ‘kariton classroom’, helping children in Cavite city.

Charo Santos-Concio : The present and first female president of the ABS-CBN.

Gilbert Teodoro Jr : the intelligent and late Secretary of Defense and now aims to be the next president of the country as the running candidate of the administration.

Fr. Bienvenido Nebres, S. J : the Ateneo de Manila president. He was conferred the 1981 Ordre des palmes Academiques by France for his contributions to Mathematics, he is also a 2001 Palanca awardee and was conferred an honorary doctorate in 2004 be it’s school rival--- De La Salle university.

Jessica Soho : GMA-7’s vice president for news and public affairs. She is a George Foster Peabody Awardee for Investigative Journalism in 2000, The Ten Most Outstanding Young Men Award in 1993 and the Catholic’s Mass Media Award Best Public Program.

Inno Sotto : the fashion prince of the Philippines. He was renowned for his fashion works of art.

Nonito Donaire Jr. : another honor of the country in the field of boxing. He is currently the WBA interim world champion in the Super Flyweight division.

Agnes Devanadera : the new Department of Justice Secretary and has resolve a multitude of cases but not losing the real essence of justice.

Rico Hizon : renowned for his achievements in international broadcasting and a writer of GoodNewsPilipinas.com.

Mita Rufino : advocacy artist which demonstrates nationalism.

Emil Jurado : a columnist at the Manila Standard Today. Known for his exposes from the times of presidency of Elpidio Quirino.

Bernd Schneider : the former general manager of the Sofitel Hotel. Known for his grandness in sorroundings.

Kaye Tinga : wife of Taguig Mayor Freddie Tinga, helping children and unemployed women from sickness and despair.

Manny Pacquaio : the pound-for-pound world boxing champion of the world.
