The new "Karate Kid" for the 2010 -By:Kim Mei Ling Tan
An extension trailer has been released for the update version of the movie “Karate Kid” followed by the best hints of creativity carried from the original.
This new version of the movie still centered on a young man who happen to go to another country, and in this case, from United States to Beijing China. Starring Jacky Chan who took over the role of (Mr. Miyagi) now named (Mr. Han) that happens to be Pat Morita’s wise sage that also plays as the karate teacher. Morita was recently nominated for a Best Supporting Actor in Academy Award.
From the power of a 12 year old boy (Dre Parker) who was forced to live on China because of his mother’s career. With Dre’s no choice led him to live there and immediately fall with his classmate (Mei Ying) that totally speaks the message of the possibility of friendship even with the difference of cultures. Put them to the worse, he also create his own enemy, Dre’s fighting skills was not that good so with the helping hand from a stranger Mr. Han who happens to be a secretly master of kung fu who teaches Dre’s to fight in calm, Dre realize fighting with the bullies will be the fight he wanted to finish.
The updated version of the movie preview was challenging fans to entice them with the original stunts done by Jacky Chan himself playing the role to catch a real fly with the use of chopsticks. The movie also uses the original song “You’re the Best” of Mr. Joe Esposito, which happens to be more impressive that the song was not even on iTunes.
